About The Project
A home rebuilt around how it is actually lived in.
Residence Lund is a complete interior transformation of a 1970s villa in the Askim district of Gothenburg. The clients — a family of four with a serious art collection and a serious requirement for storage — came to us after two previous architects had failed to reconcile the two.
Our solution was structural rather than decorative. We removed three internal walls, reorganised the ground floor entirely around a central gallery corridor that doubles as the home's main circulation route, and designed a custom millwork system that runs the full length of the upper floor, housing the collection, the books, and everything else without once looking like a storage solution.
